If you do not have a car, you can move around in Dubai by taxi, bus or by marine transport. Soon, a world class metro will be available to ease commuting.

Bus Service

Bus services are operated on 62 routes linking various residential and the industrial areas with the two central business districts. Over 1200 buses are equipped with point to point timetables that provide the waiting passengers with time schedules of the bus services passing through specific bus stops. There are also some Inter-Emirate buses for travel to other UAE cities. Taxis

Another way of getting around Dubai is by taxi. Prices for taxis are very reasonable (the meter begins at DHS 3, which is approximately 55 pence, or 0.81 USD), and are charged by distance. It's usually fairly easy to catch a cab in the city, otherwise you can call (04) 2080808 and have one come and collect you.
